Amsterdam 2017: Walking (Day 2)

This morning began with a hearty continental hotel breakfast at around 8:30 am. Our plan for the day was to take a slow walk down into Jordaan and Amsterdam’s Western Islands and try to find a bar or jazz club in the evening and listen to some music.

We left the hotel by 10 am and set off towards Jordaan, passing the Homomonument, Westerkerk, Prinsengracht and Anne Frank Huis on the way.

All in all we walked for about 4 and a half hours, enjoying whatever was left of yesterday’s snow, getting to know the area and stopping off at various places to eat on the way. We returned to the hotel sometime around 2:30 this afternoon.

Though we hoped to go to a nearby bar with live music, called Casablanca, we discovered – once we arrived – that the bar does not allow entry for under 18 year-olds (which I am) so we came back to the hotel and spent the evening and night there.
